Chelsea legend, Frank Leboeuf has admitted he’s eager to see Christopher Nkunku return to the Blues’ starting XI soon.

Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig over the summer, but an injury he sustained during pre-season has made it impossible for him to play since the move.

Armando Broja and Nicolas Jackson have led the line for Chelsea in Nkunku’s absence, but Leboeuf is adamant the former Leipzig man would bring so much more to the team’s attack.

He stated on ESPN after the Burnley win: “I pray for [Christopher] Nkunku to come back very, very soon because Broja, I’m not convinced yet. And he comes back from injury, so it takes time.

“Jackson, yeah, he’s getting better. But what I saw from Nkunku for several years, that will make a frontline very competitive.”
