Chelsea stars, Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile recently spoke with Sky Sports about a number of subjects, including the relationship they share— which goes all the way back to their days as teammates at AS Monaco.
The two defenders played together for 65 times while with the French club, winning 60 per cent of their games, with an average points-per-game ratio of 2.0.
Circumstances have not allowed them to line up alongside each other since their transfers to Stamford Bridge, but Disasi is well aware of what they can bring to the table.
“On the pitch you’ve already seen we feel great together and it works,” said Disasi. “I think me and him compliment each other really well.
“I’m perhaps more of a duels player while he likes to receive the ball and start up attacks. But it’s not a case of him not being a duels player and me not being a receiver of the ball. These things, they just work well.”
Disasi has started his Chelsea career really well, and even has a goal to his name already after scoring in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool on the opening day of the season, and as for Badiashile, the Frenchman is still working on his recovery from a groin injury he picked up over the summer, although his return may not be too far from now.
