Chelsea centre-back, Axel Disasi has pulled out of the France squad to face the Netherlands in their European Championship qualifier, and a friendly game with Scotland this October after sustaining an injury.
The former Monaco man was called up to the France national team as a late alternative for Didier Deschamps, following the unavailability of players like William Saliba, Jules Kounde and Dayot Upamecano due to injuries.
Disasi played the full 90 minutes as Chelsea beat Burnley 4-1 on Saturday, and did seem to be okay after what initially appeared to be a knock. It’s unclear the extent of the injury, but reports suggest it is a quadriceps problem.
The 25-year-old has been one of Chelsea’s main centre backs this season, alongside Thiago Silva, with the likes of Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile out injured as well.
Chelsea fans will however be hoping that the extent of the problem isn’t bad, so he can be available for selection when the Blues host Arsenal after the international break.
