Mauricio Pochettino has shared some positive news regarding some of Chelsea’s injured players ahead of the game against Burnley this weekend.

Mykhailo Mudryk and Moises Caicedo are in line to start the match, after picking up knocks against Fulham, according to Pochettino.

“Yes. Both [Mudryk & Caicedo are] in the squad,” the coach said at Friday’s press conference.

“Then we decide if they will be available to start.”

“It was close last week [with Chukwuemeka],” he added on Chukwuemeka. “This week he was training well. I still haven’t decided. I need to check with the medical staff.”

The boss also revealed that Reece James is back in training, and would have played the match, if not for the one-game suspension he received from the FA earlier this week. The Chelsea captain had been out for weeks, but has trained well for some time now, and is ready to play again.

Poch added: “He was training with the group. It’s a shame he is banned for tomorrow. We are really happy in the way he is recovering. He’s doing well. Hopefully he can be available after the international break [following suspension].”

On Ben Chilwell, who suffered another major injury, the Chelsea head coach said: “It’s to judge day by day. We cannot say the period he will be out.”
