Chelsea goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez has been shortlisted for the Premier League ‘Save of the Month’ award.
The Spaniard is one of six goalies that have been shortlisted for the award, after helping Chelsea avoid a heavy defeat during the 1-0 loss to Aston Villa back in September. Sanchez made some impressive stops in the encounter, but only one of them is being considered for the award.
The save came against Nicolo Zaniolo, who couldn’t believe he was denied, after Sanchez showed great speed to stop the Italian’s shot from eight yards out from entering the Chelsea goal by tipping it over the bar.
Also nominated for the award are Jordan Pickford (Everton), Guglielmo Vicario (Tottenham Hotspur), Ederson (Manchester City), David Raya (Arsenal) and Alisson (Liverpool).
The winner of the award will be unveiled on Friday, October 13, after a public poll.
