Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed his reason for granting starting spots to the winger in recent weeks.
Mudyrk has been involved in Pochettino’s starting XI in recent games, despite not registering a goal in all these appearances. However, the Ukrainian broke the deadlock as he scored his first goal against Fulham on Monday night.
Pochettino outlined his reason for Mudyrk’s regular appearances.
The Argentine boss said: “He’s played because he has deserved to – and because he’s showed in the training sessions that he has deserved to.
“He’s been really focused and his performance in training provides us the confidence to put him on the pitch and play.”
