Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has hailed Cole Palmer following an outstanding display in the 1-0 Carabao Cup victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.
Nicolas Jackson’s goal was the end product of a beautiful pass slid in by Palmer through a Brighton defender’s leg to give the striker his second goal for the Blues.
Pochettino was thrilled after seeing the ex-City player’s display in his first match for the Stamford Bridge side.
He said as quoted by Football.London: “Cole is a very talented player, he was key in this victory tonight. Still young, still needs to settle in the club, not only the team, in the club and the city. I think we saw today how good he is.”
The Argentine coach also told Sky Sports: “I think all of the team was really good. Cole Palmer is a very talented player and was key in this victory. He is still young and still needs to settle in the club – not only the team, the city.”
