Stats show Chelsea are the second-worst PL team in 2023

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are the second-worst team in the Premier League across 2023, according to stats.

Despite hiring four different managers and using over 30 different players, the Blues have been disappointing since the beginning of the year, suffering their worst ever Premier League season and finishing in 12th place.

The summer transfer window saw yet more signings with 12 new players arriving, and a whopping 25 players leaving west London (including Joao Felix and Denis Zakaria).

It has been a slow start to the new season, with the West London side claiming just five points from their opening five games, and their only win of the season coming against newly-promoted Luton Town, who are yet to gain a point themselves.

Chelsea’s rocky path may not end soon with tough games coming up for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. Chelsea face Aston Villa before games against Fulham and Burnley.

However, after that Blues will take on title contenders Arsenal, followed by consecutive clashes with Brentford, Tottenham, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Brighton and Manchester United, all of whom have European aspirations of their own.
