Mykhailo Mudryk was given his first league start of the season as Chelsea went away to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Mudryk lasted 63 minutes on the pitch before being subbed off for Cole Palmer.

Despite another inefficient performance from Chelsea winger, Mykhailo Mudyrk, Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino insists the Ukrainian is improving.

The winger who has failed to score in 19 appearances for the Blues made his first appearance of the season against Bournemouth but failed to make an impact as he appeared unconfident until he was substituted around the 60th minute.

When asked about his view on Mudryk’s slow adaption to English football, Pochettino said the 23-year-old needs time to ‘learn in the Premier League’

He told Sky Sports: “He is improving. He still needs to learn in the Premier League, it’s very fast.

“He needs to understand the game better, try to be more connected sometimes with the team. We need to give the time and tools for him to improve during the season.”
