Ruben Loftus-Cheek ended his lifelong stay at Chelsea, to seal a summer transfer move to AC Milan.
Loftus-Cheek, 27, has been an inspirational signing for the Serie A giants, as he dominates the midfield for them.
The England international has looked back at his time at Chelsea, and has admitted he never enjoyed those defensive positions he was forced to play.
Loftus-Cheek played in several positions at Chelsea, but looked impressive at right wing-back under Thomas Tuchel. Graham Potter also used him in that role.
“I’ve played in many roles throughout my career,” Loftus-Cheek told DAZN.
“In the last two years mostly in a defensive position, and it wasn’t natural for me.
“I’ve always liked having the ball at my feet, having the freedom to create, to be decisive. I couldn’t do that in the last two seasons, that way of playing didn’t make me happy.
“Now, I play in a position where I have more freedom, so I feel good.”
