Chelsea new summer signing Christopher Nkunku appears to be one player the club has great expectations for.

Nkuku was expected to be a huge part of the rebuilding process at Chelsea. However, injury has hampered his start at Chelsea.

The 25-year-old player is a completely versatile forward who can play from both forward wings, as a number 10 and a centre-forward if necessary.

The France international had a convincing career with RB Leipzig netting 70 goals and providing  57 assists in just 172 appearances for the club before moving to the Stamford Bridge.

It is believed that the player poses as the utmost faith for the revival of the club after he returns from injury.

Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano states that the Blues feel that Christopher Nkunku’s return from injury will help take the team a crucial step forward this season. He adds that “there is a feeling” within the club that the Frenchman will be back in action in a couple of months after sustaining a knee injury in pre-season.

He further added that, those close to Mauricio Pochettino believe that Nkunku was meant to play for the London club in their offensive positions before he picked up the injury. He claims that he is a creative, quality player who can provide assists and goals and that the club were really happy with his work before the unexpected injury.

Romano also adds that the Blues even focused not only on their pre-season friendly games but also their training sessions in the USA to help the team revolve around the Frenchman and help him dictate their attacking flow. That is why many within the club still believe that his return will make a difference for Chelsea later this season and help improve the team’s attacking product.
