
Chelsea-bound player Kendry Paez made history as he became the youngest player ever at 16 to represent Ecuador in a World Cup qualifying game.
The midfielder has got Chelsea fans excited as he has agreed a £17m move to the Blues from Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle when he turns 18 in 2025.
He has become the youngest player to feature for the Ecuador senior team and the second youngest player to ever feature for a South American side internationally after legendary Diego Maradona.
The 16-year-old is used to breaking records as he became the youngest netter in the history of U-20 World Cup in may. He also became the youngest player to score on his debut in the Ecuadorian top League when he scored for the Independiente de Valle at 15.
Fellow international teammate and one of Chelsea’s new signing, Moises Caicedo was full of praises for the 16-year-old .
When speaking to La Cancha Con Majo, he said; “He’s a crack! The truth is there are times where I watch Independiente games, it’s good to see those talents in Ecuador because we know we have very good youth.
“I’m very happy for him, for everything that he’s doing.
“All I can tell him is keep on the right track, doing things really well, and he’s going to go really far because the talent he has is incredible.”
