According to reports, PSG midfielder, Marco Verratti was targeted by Chelsea, as the club attempted a late move to sign the player.
The French side are ready to release the player who has spent 11 years at the club, as multiple top European clubs have shown interest in the 30-year-old.
Chelsea had tried to sign Verratti on loan, but the offer was immediately rejected by PSG as the club only wanted a permanent transfer.
According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, the Italian player has agreed personal terms of £38million with Saudi Arabian side, Al-Arabi. The player has travelled to the middle East to finalise the transfer which includes passing the medicals.
Other top European clubs made effort to sign Verratti, which was nullified, as Bayern Munich also made a loan move on the player. Manchester united also made a late shocking move and FC Barcelona were keen on signing the 30-year-old but couldn’t afford the fee.
Verratti won the French league nine times and finished as a runner-up in the 2020 champions league as he made 416 appearances for PSG.
