Brighton have ripped Chelsea off in back to back summer transfer windows.
Chelsea paid Brighton a British record £115m to sign Moises Caicedo during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea also paid £25m to sign Brighton’s third-choice goalkeeper Robert Sanchez this summer.
It was a similar story last year, as the Blues forked over £80m for Brighton’s Marc Cucurella and then manager Graham Potter – with the latter sacked just seven months later.
Brighton gifted their star winger Kaoru Mitoma a Porsche for winning their August’s Player of the Month award.
The Japan international posed with his Porsche car, as the photos were shared on social media.
See how Chelsea fans reacted:
One Chelsea fan joked: “They’re using the Caicedo money to fund POTM Porsche’s. What have we done?”
Another said: “Using that Caicedo bag to get Mitoma this Porsche! Incredible business.”
Another added: “Porsche costs £1m, Caicedo £115m, still some money left…”
Meanwhile, the Player of the Month winner will only get to drive the car for 48 hours.
Porsche Centre Mid-Sussex, who were behind Mitoma’s gift, made this known back in the 2015-16 season, after being named Brighton’s Performance Car Partner.
