Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino is likely to bring in another striker during the upcoming January transfer window.
During the just concluded summer window, the Blues completed the signing of Christopher Nkunku and Nikolas Jackson.
Nkunku picked up a serious knee injury during pre-season, leaving Jackson as the only option for the Blues.
Armando Broja will be ready to play in coming weeks as the young striker is back in group training after being out due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury he picked up last December.
However, adding another striker to the team by January is a priority for Chelsea as the club enquired of the possibility of signing Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham forest in the recent summer window. Forest however refused the offer but there’s a probability of the Blues tabling the offer once again during the January window.
According to GiveMeSport, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins are both being considered by those at Stamford Bridge. Sesko has only just completed a €24million (£20million) to Germany from sister club Red Bull Salzburg, while Chelsea’s interest in Watkins dates back to the summer.
Ivan Toney’s footballing ban for betting offences also ends in the middle of January and therefore it is possible he could move on from Brentford just a few weeks after returning. Chelsea and Tottenham are both interested in the 27-year-old.
