Lesley Ugochukwu, one of the recent signings completed by the Blues this summer, has explained why he left his former club for Chelsea.

Chelsea paid a whopping £27 million for the supposedly unknown teenager from Ligue One side, Stade Rennais during the just concluded transfer window.

The 19-year old who joined the club from their academy in 2012 made 60 senior appearances before moving to the Stamford Bridge this summer.

Due to the player’s age and high level of inexperience, it is believed by some that the player made a rather early move to the Blues as the chances of him making the first 11 is very unsure.

However, the Frenchman has given a simple explanation for his move to Chelsea. In his words, the player acknowledged that the opportunity of joining a team like Chelsea doesn’t come so often.

Speaking via La Parisien Journalist Benjamin Quarez, Lesley said:

“When someone tells me you’re young, why did you go to Chelsea, I answer that there are trains that don’t pass twice.”
