Chelsea enquired about signing Newcastle United star and Brazil international midfielder Bruno Guimaraes during the summer transfer window, according to 90min.

Guimaraes has cemented his place as one of the Premier League’s leading midfielders since his January 2022 move to Tyneside from Lyon, and he played a starring role as Newcastle qualified for the Champions League at the end of last season.

Real Madrid reportedly enquired about signing Guimaraes in January while Manchester City enquired about signing him in the summer.

However, the Magpies have never shown any sign of wanting to sell the Brazil international and he didn’t come close to an exit.

Guimaraes current deal expires in 2026 and Newcastle United are in talks with the Brazilian midfielder to extend his contract until 2028.
