Former Roma and Inter Milan midfielder Radja Nainggolan has revealed former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was desperate to sign him for Chelsea.
A move to Chelsea in the summer of 2017 failed to materialise and Nainggolan made the move to Inter Milan a year later.
Surprisingly, when Conte became Inter Milan manager in 2019, he found no use for Nainggolan in his Inter Milan team.
“I enjoyed my relationship with Spalletti more than any other coaches,” Nainggolan told YouTube channel Controcalcio. “Though I had a good relationship with others, even Conte.”
He noted that “At Inter I was no longer part of Conte’s project. That was clear to me. But he remains a great coach.”
“At Chelsea he wanted to sign me at all costs,” he continued. “But hen I went to Inter and he cast me aside.”
