Chelsea have confirmed defender Bashir Humphreys has signed a new four year deal with the club and will spend the remainder of the campaign on loan at Swansea City.

The centre-back has signed a deal until 2027 – with the club option of a further year – and will continue his development at Swansea this season.

It will be the defender’s second spell away from Chelsea, after a successful four-month loan to German side SC Paderborn last season, where he made 13 appearances.

Humphreys, who made only his second competitive senior appearance for the Blues against AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, is Swansea’s 12 signing of the summer.
