Paul Merson has offered his thoughts on Chelsea’s summer move for Manchester City star Cole Palmer.
Chelsea have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Palmer for a fee believed to be above £40million.
Merson told Sky Sports: “I think he is a good player.
“I thought after the Community Shield, I thought he would get a little bit more time at Man City, the way he came on and scored the goal.
“Yeah, a bit shocked, if I am being honest, a bit shocked, but good signing, good player. He has got a goal about him.
“He’s not so much of a dribbler but he can find that pass and he can score a goal. It’s a good signing.
“I’m pretty shocked, but it just shows you at the moment that Man City don’t think that Chelsea are that much of a threat to them.”
