Chelsea have announced Portugal winger Diego Moreira has completed a season-long loan move to Ligue 1 side Lyon.

The 19-year-old ended a three-year spell with Benfica to join Chelsea on a long-term contract earlier this summer, penning a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2028.

The 19-year-old made his first-team debut against AFC Wimbledon in midweek and will now continue his development in the French top flight.

The teenager arrives at the Groupama Stadium following the departure of Bradley Barcola, whom Lyon sold to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in a £42.9m deal on Thursday.
