Mauricio Pochettino sends message to Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has sent a message to Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku who is keen on leaving Chelsea before the transfer window closes.

Lukaku is currently training with Chelsea U21s and has not held a single conversation with head coach Pochettino.

Chelsea have been desperately trying to sell Lukaku this summer but have been unable to strike a deal thus far.

Lukaku snubbed a move to Saudi Arabia earlier in the transfer window while Inter Milan were unable to meet Chelsea’s asking price.

Pochettino was quizzed about Lukaku in Thursday’s press conference and said: “Don’t be sorry, you need to ask. No [I have still not spoken to him] as the situation has not changed.

“If the player and the club wish to find a solution, it’s not me, it’s them that need to talk. They can then inform me if there is a change.

“I’m not going to move until the club or the player want to talk with me. I accepted the situation when I arrived. I wasn’t able to change anything.

“It was before we arrived. In the future, it can change. Things can always change in football. Life can change. At the moment, today, nothing has changed. If something changes, we will adapt to the new situation.”
