Moises Caicdeo has sent a message to Chelsea fans after his nightmare debut in the 3-1 defeat to West Ham on Sunday.

The Ecuador international midfielder had a debut to forget at the London Stadium as he came off the bench on 61 minutes.

With Chelsea 2-1 down and West Ham down to 10 men, the Blues were searching for a late equaliser when Caicedo clumsily brought down Emerson inside the box and gave away a penalty – which Lucas Paqueta scored to secure a 3-1 victory.

Caicedo has now responded to his horror debut and posted on Instagram: “It wasn’t the debut that I expected.

“But I’m happy to get my first minutes with this big club. We’ll keep working hard to put this team where it deserves.

“Thanks to the fans who are supporting me.”
