Chelsea legend Eden Hazard has backed new Chelsea signing Romeo Lavia to show his “qualities” at Chelsea this season.

The Belgian international became the club’s second midfield summer signing this week alone after a £58m move from Southampton on Friday.

Lavia has signed a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

“Last year wasn’t very good for Chelsea but this year will be more calm,” said Hazard in a video call with Lavia.

“There are a lot of things that have changed. Don’t worry, you’ll get the chance to show what you can do.

“We know what qualities you have.”
