Mauricio Pochettino identifies new position for Enzo Fernandez

With Chelsea signing Moises Caicedo for £115million from Brighton and Romeo Lavia set to join the Blues from Southampton for £58million, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has identified a new position for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

According to Evening Standard, Pochettino intends to play Fernandez as a number 10 in front of Caicedo and Lavia in a midfield three, having excelled further forward in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

The report also adds that Chelsea believe the midfield partnership of Caicedo, 21, and Fernandez, 22, will conquer the Premier League and Europe for the next decade.

Chelsea pushed for the signing of Caicedo from Brighton because it was believed Fernandez needed a physical player alongside him to help Argentina’s World Cup winner flourish at Stamford Bridge.
