Chelsea are close to beating Manchester City to the transfer of Crystal Palace star Michael Olise, according to Evening Standard via Metro.

The 21-year-old was Palace’s Player of the Season last term, providing 11 assists and scoring two goals.

Pep Guardiola wanted Olise to replace Riyad Mahrez, who left the club in a £30m deal last month but Olise, who came through the Chelsea academy, is keen on returning to Chelsea.

Olise has reportedly informed Manchester City of his decision to join Chelsea this summer.
