According to the Sun, Chelsea are set to beat Liverpool again to the transfer of Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.
The report states: “Chelsea are set to beat Liverpool to the signing of Romeo Lavia following the arrival of Moises Caicedo, reports SunSport’s Jack Rosser.
“Just as with Caicedo and Brighton, the Reds had agreed a fee with Southampton only for the midfielder to snub Anfield in favour of Stamford Bridge.
“Liverpool and Southampton struck a £60million package, though Chelsea are expected to land the Belgian international for around £50m up-front before add-ons once the deal is completed.
“Despite Liverpool agreeing the larger initial fee, Southampton were happy to let the teenage midfielder, who they signed for just £10.5m last summer, decide his future.”
