Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister praised Enzo Fernandez’s performance after Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday.

Fernandez delivered an impressive performance in Chelsea’s midfield and was named man of the match for his display.

The Liverpool midfielder believes Fernandez impact on the game shows why Chelsea opted to pay £106.8m to sign him from Benfica in January.

“I have already faced him [Fernandez] several times,” Mac Allister told Paramount Plus after the game.

“I have played with him, he is a great player, I respect him a lot, I have a great relationship.

“Today he showed why they paid what they paid for him, why he is here and it makes me happy for him, obviously.”
