Mohamed Salah thought he had doubled Liverpool’s advantage in the 29th minute but the goal was ruled out by VAR for offside.
Chelsea took control of the game and deservedly equalised in the 37th minute as Axel Disasi scored on his Chelsea debut.
Ben Chilwell thought he had put Chelsea ahead two minutes later when he rounded the Liverpool goalkeeper and put the ball into the gaping net but VAR ruled out the goal for offside.
Chelsea continued to control the game in the second and looked like the team most likely to score but neither side could find the winner.
Chelsea’s head coach made a very costly mistake in his line up against Liverpool today. He shouldn’t have started Sterling who has not been making meaningful impact since he came to Chelsea.
Please, don’t start him in our subsequent games. He should be coming in as a substitute.
