Former Premier League striker Darren Bent believes Chelsea have signed the wrong goalkeeper after the Blues confirmed the signing of Robert Sanchez from Brighton.
The Blues agreed a deal worth £25million to buy the Spaniard as competition for first-choice goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Bent believes Chelsea should have signed David Raya from Brentford for £40million as a replacement for Kepa instead.
“Bringing in Robert Sanchez, who doesn’t even start for Brighton… I find it quite strange,” Bent told talkSPORT.
“David Raya is being linked to Arsenal as their No.2… David Raya is better than Kepa Arrizabalaga. So why would Chelsea not go for him?
“And why would David Raya not think, ‘Hold on, why am I going to Arsenal to play behind Aaron Ramsdale? Why don’t I go to Chelsea and be their No.1?’
“There’s something not quite right with Arsenal’s deal for Raya. If I was Chelsea, I would be trying to get him.”
This guy is talking nonsense. Is it his money? Please leave Chelsea alone and concentrate on your job
