Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed new Chelsea signing Lesley Ugochukwu will leave the club on loan to continue his development.

It’s been suggested Ugochukwu will be immediately loaned to Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg – which Pochettino has now confirmed.

Speaking after their preseason win against Fulham, the manager said: “It’s obvious that maybe we need to reinforce this area. We need experience in midfield.

“My information is a player that is from France that they sign with the idea for some loan. The information was already in your laptop. Nothing to say too much.”

Chelsea have completed the transfer of French midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu from French club Rennes in a deal worth €27.5million (£23.5m).

The midfielder has reportedly signed contract as new Chelsea player after successfully undergoing his Chelsea medical.
