According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are set to hold talks with French club Montpellier over a possible transfer of their young striker Elye Wahi in the next few days.
After agreeing to a deal with Rennes to sign their midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu for £23.5 million ($30.2m), the Blues are now eyeing a move for Montpellier starlet Elye Wahi.
“After completing Ugochukwu deal with Rennes, Chelsea will focus again on negotiations for Elye Wahi,” Romano reports.
“Talks will continue in the next days to agree terms with Montpellier and then loan Wahi to Strasbourg.
“Chelsea know there are two more clubs trying to convince Wahi.”
Wahi appeared in 31 Ligue 1 games last season where he scored 19 goals and provided six assists.
