According to the Sun, Chelsea have triggered the release clause of Crystal Palace playmaker Michael Olise by offering £4million more than £35million release clause.

The Blues are aiming to beat Premier League rivals Manchester City for the transfer of the Crystal Palace star.

The Frenchman, 21, is reportedly keen on joining Chelsea and playing under Mauricio Pochettino.

The Blues’ firm interest follows Olise’s record-busting campaign for Premier League assists.

He was fourth in the 2022-23 Prem list on 11, behind Manchester City playmaker Kevin de Bruyne, Arsenal wideman Leandro Trossard and Liverpool striker Mo Salah.

Olise became the youngest player to tee up three Prem goals from open play in one match when Palace came from behind to win 5-1 at Leeds on April 9.

And on May 13 he became the first Eagle to achieve ten Prem assists in one season.
