According to Football London, Chelsea are interested in signing Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun this summer.

The 22-year-old has only made 22 appearances for the Gunners, and has spent the last season and a half on loan away from the club. Balogun was with Middlesbrough for the second half of the 2021/22 campaign, but came of age in the French league with Reims last term.

During his time on loan at Reims last season, Balogun scored 21 goals in 37 league appearances for the French club. Only Kylian Mbappe (29 goals), Alexandre Lacazette (27 goals) and Jonathan David (24 goals) scored more goals than Balogun in the French league last season.

The report adds that Balogun’s representatives have spoken to Chelsea about a possible move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The American international is keen on leaving Arsenal on a permanent deal this summer. Balogun knows he won’t get regular game-time at the Emirates with Gabriel Jesus there and does not wish to leave on loan again.
