Barcelona interested in signing Chelsea star who is yet to play a single game for Chelsea

According to Daily Mail, Barcelona are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos who is yet to make an appearance for the Blues.

Chelsea signed Santos from Vasco da Gama in January but due to his inability to get a work permit, he returned to the Brazilian side on loan for the rest of the season.

Santos is currently in pre-season training with Mauricio Pochettino’s squad at Cobham after clearing work permit problems that delayed the start to his career at Stamford Bridge.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Santos after identifying the Brazilian international as a long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets.

Benfica and Porto have also shown interest in a loan move for the 19-year-old midfielder but Chelsea’s new boss Pochettino wants a closer look at him as he assesses all his options.

Since his move to Chelsea, Santos has been called into the senior squad and represented Brazil at the Under-20 World Cup, where they lost to Israel in the quarter-finals last month.

The midfielder made his senior appearance for Brazil after coming off the bench in their 2-1 friendly loss to Morocco in March.
