Paris Saint-Germain chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi has broken his silence on Kylian Mbappe amid interest from Chelsea.

Mbappe has told the French champions that he won’t extend his current contract which ends next summer.

His stance has left PSG at risk of losing him on a free in 2024 if they cannot negotiate a sale before the end of the transfer window.

PSG have placed a asking price of £250million on Mbappe, with the French champions adamant Mbappe won’t leave for nothing.

“We do not want him to leave for free in 2024,” he said, via Fabrizio Romano.

“Our position is clear. If Kylian wants to stay, we want him to stay. But he needs to sign a new contract.

“We don’t want to lose the best player in the world for free, it’s impossible.”

Al-Khelaifi also added: “Mbappe has said that he will not leave for free. If he changed his mind, it is not my fault.”
