Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has completed a return to management after being appointed as manager of Saudi club Al-Ettifaq.
Gerrard had been out of work since being sacked by Villa in October 2022.
He had previously rejected an offer from Al-Ettifaq last month before performing a U-turn to take over the club on Monday.
According to the Sun, Gerrard is looking to bolster his squad with Premier League experience and has identified Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as an ideal signing.
Aubameyang’s future at Chelsea is uncertain after a difficult first season at Stamford Bridge.
After signing from Barcelona last summer, the forward scored just three goals in 21 appearances for Barcelona.
Chelsea are open to selling the striker this summer and his next destination could be the Saudi league to play under Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq.
