According to Defensa Central, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has urged the Blues to sign Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde this summer.

The report claims that Chelsea could make a bid of €100 million (£86 million) and could even raise it €120 million (£103 million) for the 24-year-old, who  can operate in central midfield or on the right wing.

However, Real Madrid do not intend to sell Valverde, who himself wants to stay at the former La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners.

Real Madrid do not intend to sell one of their best and most important players. The Uruguayan midfielder is now one of the first names in manager Carlo Ancelotti’s teamsheet.

Valverde made 29 starts and five substitute appearances in La Liga for Madrid last season. He scored seven goals and gave four assists in those games.
