Despite tabling a formal bid, Lyon could miss out on signing Christian Pulisic as the player has informed the Chelsea board that he wants to join Italian club AC Milan.

According to ESPN via GOAL, Pulisic has agreed personal terms with AC Milan and will turn down an offer from French club Lyon.

Lyon have submitted a formal offer of £21 million ($27m) to Chelsea which matches the Blues’ asking price for the player. But it is understood that Lyon will not be able to match what Milan will offer Pulisic in wages.

While Lyon have matched Chelsea’s asking price for Pulisic, AC Milan’s offer is way below Chelsea’s asking price for the American international.

According to the Athletic, AC Milan have offered to sign Pulisic, who has one year left on his Chelsea contract, for €14million (£12m, $15.3m).
