According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have terminated the contract of Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta and the defender is free to leave the club as a free agent.
Azpilicueta has agreed a two year contract with Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
Romano tweeted: “Chelsea have confirmed to César Azpilicueta and his camp that he’s gonna be allowed to leave for free; his contract will be terminated. Mutual respect between Azpi and the club.
“Atlético will unveil Azpi as new signing very soon. It’s done, sealed, here-we-go.”
