According to Evening Standard, Chelsea will step up efforts to sign Moises Caicedo after accepting Manchester United’s £60million offer for Mason Mount.
The report adds that Brighton are demanding £100million from Chelsea for the transfer of Caicedo after benchmarking their midfielder’s worth against Declan Rice’s £105m move to Arsenal.
Chelsea have already had a £60m offer rejected, but there is a hope that a fee of around £80m can be agreed.
The 21 year old Ecuadorian midfielder is keen on joining Chelsea this summer and has already agreed personal terms with the Blues.
Chelsea will consider signing Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia or Everton midfielder Amadou Onana should the Blues fail to reach an agreement with Brighton for the transfer of Caicedo.
