Man United will drop plans to sign Moises Caicedo if Chelsea accept their bid to sign Mason Mount

According to Daily Mail via Metro, Premier League rivals Manchester United will drop their plans to sign Brighton star Moises Caicedo if Chelsea accept the bid to sign Mason Mount.

Chelsea rejected a third bid from Manchester United for Mount worth £55million, with the Blues demanding £65million for their transfer.

Manchester United inquired about signing Caicedo this week and are prepared to step up negotiations for the Brighton midfielder if a resolution with Chelsea is not found for Mount.

Caicedo would cost significantly more than Mount, with Brighton seeking around £80m for the Ecuador international.

Manchester United will walk away from a move to sign Caicedo if a deal for Mount gets over the line.

That’s due to United’s tight summer budget, which is believed to be around £120million.
