According to Metro, Mason Mount is ready to report for Chelsea training and make himself available for the club’s pre-season tour to America after Manchester United’s £55million bid was rejected on Friday.
Chelsea are holding out for £65million but Manchester United believe £55million is a fair price for Mount as he has only one year left on his contract.
Mount has so far been unwilling to sign a contract extension at Stamford Bridge, leaving Chelsea with a dilemma as he could leave on a free transfer next summer.
Mount has already agreed personal terms with Manchester United but the Red Devils and Chelsea are yet to reach an agreement on a fee.
Despite Chelsea rejecting Manchester United’s £55million bid, Mount is set to tell incoming Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino that he will continue to give everything for the club while he is still contracted and is ready to go on the tour of the US ahead of the new season.
Pochettino officially takes over next week as Chelsea boss.
Pochettino is said to admire Mount as a player and could attempt to convince the England midfielder to stay once he arrives in west London.
If Man united refuse to pay the actual amount of money needed for Mason m.Then if mount want to continue playing at Stamford bridge then he have to extend his contract in Chelsea FC.
