With Kai Havertz set to swap Chelsea for Arsenal, the Blues have tabled a contract offer for Arsenal attacker Ethan Nwaneri, according to the Sun.
With his schoolboy contract in its last week, The Gunners are trying to convince him to sign a scholarship contract which will turn into a professional one when he turns 17.
However, Chelsea have been impressed with the attacking midfielder’s form and have offered him a contract also.
Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has defended Arsenal’s decision to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea for £65million.
Arteta said: “Talent comes at a price, and at Arsenal, we are always interested in youngsters with experience. I repeat I’m not talking about players from other clubs, but in the case of Kai, he has already shown a lot, including a Champions League.
“He is a talented player, versatile and only 24 years old.”
