Italian giants AC Milan have held talks with Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku over a potential deal for the striker, according to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport via GOAL.

The report states: “Milan are prepared to pay the €40 million (£34m/$44m) that Chelsea want for Lukaku, a figure Inter cannot afford given their financial state.

“Lukaku wants to remain at Inter and does not want to wear the jersey of their city rivals next season. Meanwhile, Al-Hilal are trying to lure him to Saudi Arabia and have offered him €30m (£26m/$32m) per season.

“Milan will use some of the money gained from the sale of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle and redirect towards bringing Lukaku to the red-and-black side of the city.

Meanwhile, according to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea have told Romelu Lukaku’s representative Sebastien Ledure that the Blues won’t sanction another loan move for the striker this summer.

Lukaku is keen on returning to Inter Milan ahead of next season but the Italian club only want to sign the striker on loan.

Lukaku spent last season on loan at Inter Milan and the Chelsea hierarchy aren’t willing to sanction another loan move for the Chelsea striker. Chelsea want Lukaku to depart the club permanently and are looking to receive at least €40million for his transfer.
