Manchester United have submitted a third bid for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount worth £55million, according to the Athletic.

The latest bid from Manchester United for Mount is a guaranteed £50million offer with £5m more in add-ons.

Manchester United had seen a second bid worth up to £50m — a £45m initial fee plus £5m in add-ons — rejected by Chelsea this week.

After rejecting Manchester United’s second offer, Chelsea requested for a guaranteed fee of £60million plus £7million in add-ons, according to the Athletic.

It’s yet to be seen whether Chelsea will accept Manchester United’s latest offer of £55million for Mount.

Mount has a year left to run on his deal at Stamford Bridge but talks over extending his stay have failed to yield a positive conclusion and Chelsea are keen to comply with the player’s wishes over a potential exit.
