According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Chelsea transfer target and Villarreal striker Nicolas Jackson is ready to sign a five-year contract with Chelsea after agreeing personal terms with the Blues.

Chelsea have also agreed to pay the release clause for Jackson which is €35million but are discussing to pay in instalments, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Jackson joined Villarreal in 2019 and, after progressing through their youth ranks, made his La Liga debut in 2021.

Jackson finished the 2022-23 season strongly, netting nine goals in his side’s final eight La Liga matches.

Meanwhile, Italian club Inter Milan have told Chelsea that midfielder Nicolò Barella isn’t for sale at any price, according to Italian outlet Corriere della Sera.

With Inter Milan interested in signing Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea had requested a swap deal involving Barella but Inter Milan have now made it clear they have no intention to sell the midfielder.

Barella was a key player for Inter Milan last season. The Italy international scored nine goals across all competitions in 52 games as he won the Coppa Italia and reached the Champions League final.
