Italian club Inter Milan have told Chelsea that midfielder Nicolò Barella isn’t for sale at any price, according to Italian outlet Corriere della Sera.

With Inter Milan interested in signing Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea had requested a swap deal involving Barella but Inter Milan have now made it clear they have no intention to sell the midfielder.

Barella was a key player for Inter Milan last season. The Italy international scored nine goals across all competitions in 52 games as he won the Coppa Italia and reached the Champions League final.

Meanwhile, according to Sky Sports journalist Angelo Mangiante, Chelsea star Kai Havertz is close to joining Premier League rivals Arsenal.

Real Madrid were previously interested in signing Havertz but have backed out as they are unwilling to pay Chelsea’s asking price of £70million. Real Madrid were only willing to pay £40 million for the 24-year-old Chelsea attacker.

Mangiante said: “Kai Havertz is very close to Arsenal. A player of great class who left his mark with his decisive goals in the trophies won with #Chelsea & Tuchel.”
