Chelsea announce £40million signing will finally leave Chelsea this month

Chelsea have confirmed £40million signing from Monaco in 2017, Tiemoue Bakayoko, will leave the club this summer when his contract expires.

The 28 year old has not played a game for the Blues since his debut season in the 2017/18 season.

He has spent his time out on loan at various clubs across Europe. He has spent two stints at AC Milan, returned to Monaco for a season and also spent a year with Napoli with the highlight being a Serie A title with Milan in 2021.

His contract with Chelsea has now come to an end, with the club saying in a statement: “We thank Tiemoue for his contribution during his season at Stamford Bridge.”

The Blues have also released Derrick Abu, Prince Adegoke, Nathan Baxter, Juan Carlos Familia-Castillo, Bryan Fiabema, Joe Haigh, Henry Lawrence, Sam McClelland, Dujon Sterling, Amari Thomas Silko, Ethan Wady and Jayden Wareham.
