While much of the focus for Chelsea is on outgoings, the Blues are looking to strengthen certain positions in the squad, with central midfield one of them.
According to The Guardian, Chelsea are looking at signing any of these midfielders – Moises Caicedo of Brighton, Celta Vigo’s Gabri Veiga and Southampton’s Roméo Lavia.
The report states: “Much of the focus for Chelsea is on outgoings but they are targeting reinforcements in a few positions.
“Midfield targets include Brighton’s Moisés Caicedo and Celta Vigo’s Gabri Veiga, while talks have been held over moving for Southampton’s Roméo Lavia. Arsenal are also interested in Lavia.”
Meanwhile, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Italian side Inter Milan really want Chelsea centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
Despite only joining Chelsea from Napoli last summer, Chelsea are open to selling Koulibaly this summer after the Senegalese international struggled to produce his best form for Chelsea.
Inter Milan will reportedly discuss signing Koulibaly when they meet with Chelsea in the next few days.
Both clubs will also discuss about the future of Romelu Lukaku. The Belgium striker isn’t keen on returning to Chelsea after spending the season on loan at Inter Milan. Lukaku prefers to play at Inter next season.
During the meeting, Chelsea will also ask for final price tag for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana before deciding on bid.
